Is there any issue with the model architecture I have provided?

Hello everyone,

I am currently working on a keypoint detection task using a ResNet-based model. However, I am not sure if there are any issues with the architecture that I have provided. Therefore, I am seeking your help to review the architecture and provide me with your valuable feedback.

Here is the architecture that I have designed:

I would appreciate it if you could review the architecture and let me know if there are any issues with it. Your feedback will be highly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Based on your code it seems you are returning a spatial output as the last layer is an nn.Conv2d module. I’m not familiar with your use case, but would assume a “keypoint detection task” would return coordinates of e.g. facial keypoints and would thus use e.g. an nn.Linear layer as the output module.
Your model looks more like a segmentation model, but again I’m unsure if I’m missing something.

Yes, it returns a heatmap with size 64x64 for keypoint detection. In training, the loss is compute as the MSE of the predict heatmap and the target heatmap which is a Gaussian distribution centered on the coordinates of the keypoint.
