Pytorch fails to load cuda

On Ubuntu: 20.04.2 with
“nvcc --version” returning … release 10.1 V10.1.243
“nvidia-smi” returning: NVIDIA-SMI: 470.82.00 Driver Version: 470.82.00 CUDA Version: 11.4…Tesla P100

Using anaconda3, I’m trying to install and environment with with python3.11 and pytorch with gpu support, but torch.cuda.is_available() returns false, and if I try to run:

$ conda install pytorch torchvision torchaudio cudatoolkit=10.1.243 -c pytorch
this conda still proposes to install:
pytorch/linux-64::pytorch-2.1.2-py3.11_cpu_0

Reading up on version compatibilities, I haven’t found any confllicts…

Please help

Use the supported install commands from here as your current install command specifies cudatoolkit=10.1 which we are not building against anymore.
