Pytorch Download not working for Cuda 11.8

I am trying to download pytorch for cuda 11.8, and I followed the instructions on the pytorch website, but when I ran the ‘pip3 install torch torchvision torchaudio --index-url’ command, i got the error message:

“Looking in indexes:
ERROR: Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement torch (from versions: none)
ERROR: No matching distribution found for torch”

I also tried the basic cpu installation as well as the conda installation, which did not work. I also used to have conda 12.2 and i downgraded to 11.8 just to see if maybe it woudl work. Can someone please help me?

I assume you mean CUDA. Note that your locally CUDA toolkit won’t be used unless you build PyTorch from source or a custom CUDA extension. The binaries ship with their own dependencies.

The install command works for me on Linux with Python3.10:

pip install torch torchvision torchaudio --index-url
