RTX 4090 vs 2 RTX 3090

Just that, What would your choice be?

Currently, I already have one RTX3090. The options would be

  1. Add another 3090
  2. Replace the 3090 by 4090

Short story, as long as your computer can power 2 gpus, buy a second 3090.
Why:

  • 2 experiments in parallel → double fun
  • I think 3090 still have nvlink so you can get a huge gpu.
  • parallel training in 2 gpus (since they are the same it’s balanced)

Buying a better one is just going to give u +20% more performance, which is okish. But again
BE SURE YOUR COMPUTER CAN RUN BOTH
this means you have enough RAM, a power-enough power supply, good cpu etc…
